Anatomy for Rope: A Twist on the Human Body with Dr. Lynk

Rope bondage and suspension can be dangerous if you do not know human anatomy and the impact that the rope can have on it. With a little bit of knowledge, you can improve bondage and suspension tolerance, decrease risk for injury, and be a little sadistic all at the same time. This class will discuss the following topics: detailed human anatomy, potential risks of bondage, symptoms from different structures (nerves, muscles, vessels, etc.), possible modifications for play, injury management with bondage, and many other topics on safe bondage through the lens of human anatomy.

Tell a Friend: RSVP for this class on Fetlife or Facebook (RSVPs are not tickets; tickets required for entry).

Training for Rope: Sustaining the Rope High with Dr. Lynk

Rope bottoms, do you get frustrated with your lack of tolerance for staying bound or suspended? Riggers, do you feel pressure to complete a tie before your bottom fatigues out? Rope can be awesome to play with in the scene, but many times it is dependent on the tolerance of the person being tied or suspended. This class’s goal is to assist people in finding ways beyond repetitive bondage and suspension to increase bondage and suspension flight time. This class utilizes knowledge of anatomy, exercise, and body mechanics to improve the tie duration. This class is primarily geared toward the rope bottom, but riggers can learn how to modify their suspensions through body position and manual technique to keep your art a little longer and keep them coming back for more. Come join Dr. Lynk for a creative combination of science and rope.

Eventbrite - Training for Rope: Sustaining the Rope High with Dr. Lynk

Dr. Lynk is a creatively entertaining sadist with fetishes for knives, the workings of the human body, maintaining constant motion when teaching a class, and being the community human repairman. His classes are derived from his work and training as a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). You can expect his classes to include a twist of pain (ok, maybe a little more than a twist), a dash of random facts, and a ton of information. Do not be alarmed if he takes off his shirt for no apparent reason or uses a variety of audience members and random objects as props during class. This is just how he operates. Dr. Lynk hopes that you will not only be entertained by his presentations and antics but will also come away with a great deal of knowledge. Of course, he would have never found the scene or started presenting without the influence of his incredible life partner, Ever.

Flogging 101 with WiseProtector

Learn the basics of flogging! Topics include:

  • Why Do I Flog Thee?…and why am I nekkid in front of all these people?
Motivation and understanding from top to bottom.
  • Connection: That’s the real secret.
  • Safety Third! (Only because it’s the third thing we’ll be covering.)
  • Boredom and The Art of Flogging: When it looks really boring, it might be sublime. REALLY understanding what’s going on.
  • How to Hit
You: Probably thought this was the most important part.
Here’s enough to get to effective flogging.
  • What’s Spinach Got to Do With It?
Double flogging and what I learned from a total green newbie to BDSM.
There’s more than just how to double flog. Learning from others.

Starting in the late 70′s before the interweb, before knowing anybody actually does this sort of thing, Wise had to seduce girlfriends into BDSM. The cornerstone of that seduction is knowing what each other really needs, and fulfilling that need. This approach has been called, “clever,” “psychological,” “somehow unfair,” and even, “dangerously persuasive,” but Wise explains,
“All I do is lead people where they want to go, because I’m lazy, and because it works.”
That’s the focus of most of his workshops: find out what you both really need and how you need to get it. Then lead them there. That’s how he gets pretty much whatever he wants.

Carter Steven’s Pocono Fall Fetish Fling (in 1998?) was his first foray into the public scene where Joe and candi taught him what they know about flogging. After learning from lots of people, he’s given workshops at the York Play Group, Brimstone, The first NDDS bootcamp and The Warehouse.

Wise is married to (not surprisingly) MrsWise, where they live in a surprisingly bucolic suburb North of Philadelphia. He hosts the nearby  BDSM of SEPA Social in Bensalem, PA. Wise finds it moderately disturbing to write about himself in the third person.

It may have been at the hands of someone you knew casually, someone who was supposed to love you the most or perhaps it was a stranger.

Partners and allies of survivors are also very welcome to join us for this is a face forward, joyful class where Ducky explains some of the hard science behind the survivor brain. You’ll learn how to navigate emotions and help your partners better understand, trust and play well with you.
