Takate Kote (TK): Part 3 of 8 Part Rigging Series with Belle
The Takate Kote (TK) is one of the base ties of Japanese style rope bondage. Not only is it beautiful to look at, it is extremely functional and a great tool for learning many other aspects of rope bondage. This class will cover how to precisely tie one variation of a two-rope TK. Emphasis will fall on how to tie it accurately but also how to tie it with emotion and connection. HW: Practice the two-rope TK. Try to get it to the point where you can tie it smoothly.
Join rigger Belle for all or parts of this eight class series every second Thursday from 7pm-9pm This series is designed to take the beginning rigger and teach them the fundamentals of using rope as the main tool in a scene while preparing them to successfully learn suspension. There will be a variety of topics covering many aspects of rope bondage, but the main purpose is to build the basic skills necessary to learn safer suspension techniques later on. Each class will build upon knowledge, techniques, and skills learned during previous classes to provide new insight, ties, or understanding about rope. However those who have some familiarity with rope can learn from any of these classes ala carte on second Thursdays for eight consecutive months from February to September.as follows:

Create Your First BDSM Scene with Wise Protector
Have you developed an interest in BDSM? Maybe you’ve read a book, seen a movie or been inspired online, or have just had these fantasies and now realize people actually DO these things. Maybe you’re partner is interested, and you need to find out how to get started. This BDSM workshop focuses on creating a fantasy come to life, scene to be played out that allows you to go back to your regular life right after. Creating and experiencing a scene where someone is in charge takes some planning and in this class you will consider:
- Where Do You Want to Go?A lot of participants might be a bit shy about revealing their desires. But please bring an idea of at least one fantasy you’d like to play out in real life. Keep the idea simple. “I want to spank my partner,” (or vice-versa,) “I want to tie my partner up!” or “My partner wants to have a scene where they are my slave.” Let’s find out where you are, before we find out what happens next.
- How to Persuade the Willing: Some partners who are intellectually on board might need a psychological “boost,” to really step into the scene.
- How to prepare: Getting ready with your partner, a discussion of safety desires and fantasies. Also having the right tools at hand.
- Down the Rabbit Hole – What To Say, What To Do. How to begin a scene that connects with your partner. Using language that increases connection, makes it easier for you to lead, makes it easier for them to follow or vice versa.
- The End How to end the scene and how you can make that ending meaningful and more fulfilling
The internet is filled information about BDSM. You can attend Passion 101 workshops at and learn some of the mechanics of say, spanking, flogging or bondage. What you might find different and crucially useful in the workshop is an idea about how to know what to say and do while you’re in a given scene. More than just a way to get in the mood and stimulate the imagination, it’s an idea that draws you and your partner together, makes it easier for your partner to surrender to the moment, and increases the likelihood that the scene will be fulfilling. This isn’t the One True Way, this is just one useful way, and an easy way to get started. Not a script, but some simple, easy to remember concept to know just what to say, based on what’s going on around you.

Connections: Putting Emotion Into Play with Wise Protector
For most BDSM players, bringing the bottom into spacey, happy place that all partners can witness and experiencing a good connection is the focus of play. Building to the point of euphoria has way more to do with communication, emotion, and what’s going on inside our minds than physical technique. There’s all sorts of ways to get to “sub-space” and to empathetically enjoy the high of a partner. This workshop focuses on the idea of connecting with your partner, mentally, emotionally as well as physically. There are ways to connect in any situation, from first time play partners, to intensifying what you already have naturally with a long term, loving partner. You’ll get a chance to try some of the ideas and you can pick what fits for you.
Starting in the late 70s before the interweb, before knowing anybody actually does this sort of thing, Wise had to seduce girlfriends into BDSM. The cornerstone of that seduction is knowing what each other really needs, and fulfilling that need. All I do is lead people where they want to go.” That’s the focus of most of his workshops: find out what you both really need and how you need to get it. Then lead them there.
Carter Steven’s Pocono Fall Fetish Fling (in 1998?) was his first foray into the public scene where Joe and candi taught him what they know about flogging. After learning from lots of people, he’s given workshops at the York Play Group, Brimstone, The first NDDS bootcamp and The Warehouse, Sexploratorium and The Kink Shoppe.
He also participates in the BDSM module of SAR at Widener University, for the Graduate Class in Human Sexuality, exposing future therapists to some aspects of BDSM.
