Tuesday January 12th, 6-8pm – Dropping the Hint, Not the Ball! Flirtingandreshakti.jpeg
101 with Andre Shakti

Sadly, in today’s “how-to” age, there are more contradictory and harmful myths about flirting floating around out there than there is practical advice. “Don’t fuck on the first date!” “Play hard to get!” “Don’t talk about past relationships!” “Wear something flattering, but not too conservative or revealing!” Hardly ever do the instructions given account for diversity in sexual orientation, gender identity, or relationship style, let alone personal preference! Join performer, educator, and professional flirt Andre Shakti as she identifies the self-imposed “roadblocks” that make flirting difficult and works with your individual personality style to maximize your success without losing sight of who you are and what you REALLY want!

Andre is an activist, educator, producer, writer, and sex worker. She graduated cum laude from Towson University in Maryland with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and LGBT Studies in 2010. She worked in HIV risk assessment, harm reduction education, and community activism in Baltimore from 2008-2011, studied at San Francisco State University’s National Sexuality Resource Center (NSRC) in 2010, and graduated from San Francisco Sex Information (SFSI)’s Sex Educator Training in Fall 2013. She held educator and sales associate positions at sex-positive adult boutiques Sugar (Baltimore, MD) and Feelmore510 (Oakland, CA), frequently writes about the sex industry for Cosmopolitan online, and is currently working on an anthology of sex worker anecdotes for publication by ThreeLMedia. anitaFriday January 15th, 7-9pm – Develop Sexual Consciousness with Anita

When we think of sex we think of a physical connection; when we become aware, we then tap into the higher states of our consciousness thus, creating the spirit essence of our being. That is where I want to enlighten you in this workshop. Exploring the higher dimensions of your physical reality with your spiritual self brings a more solid foundation of love, passion and intimacy. Learn how to connect and open to the deeper connection of your body. Male bodies can learn to extend and multiply the pleasure while female bodies can learn to strengthen the orgasmic response. Learn to bring together your Shiva and Shakti as one within yourself. We will practice Tantra Wisdom exercises to include fire orgasm breath to open up the chakra channels, movement meditative undulations to bring about freedom of the senses, and communication to bring words to what we are feeling. Workshop is open to singles and couples. Expect to work with partners in the class.

Anita DeFrancesco, MA, Intimacy and Relationship Educator. Her focus and vision have been the evolution of spirituality, sexuality, and teaching others to awaken from separation and suffering and to embrace the modern world with oneness and love. She helps people to liberate and let go of the grudges. She has been featured on Playboy’s Sexcetera. She is the author of Live Free: Your Journey to a Liberated Life.

Friday January 29th, 7-8:30pm – Queer Open Relationship/Polyamorous Discussion Group

This Discussion Group – facilitated by Lenore Jefford, LPC and Lisa Kaye, CMT – is designed for anyone who identifies as Queer (for our purposes Gay, Lesbian, Bi or Trans) who is interested in or currently in an Open relationship or Poly configuration. We created this discussion forum specifically for Queer folks (GLBTQI) as a safe space to learn more about Open relationships and/or Poly living. The Open Relationship or Poly meet-ups and events in Philadelphia are mostly heteronormative and, although, not unwelcoming or exclusive, seem to miss or misunderstand the specific needs of Queer identified folks. We hope to facilitate questions and create an open arena for discussion so folks considering this lifestyle may benefit from the experience of those currently living it. Likewise, we hope this discussion group may provide a community of like minded folks to support and encourage one another in this unique journey.

Lenore Jefford is a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice in Mt. Airy for the last 9 years. She recently completed the Sex Therapy Certification at Council for Relationships in Center City. She specializes in LGBTQI cases in her practice, including couples work and has extensive experience with treating all types of trauma. Lisa Kaye is a Licensed Massage Therapist in PA. She has been in private practice for 20 years. She specializes in Myofacial Release, a deep tissue modality. Lenore and Lisa have been together for 12 years.

Tickets can be purchased online or in-store for a sliding-scale donation of $5-$15, $10 recommended. (Online purchases are recommended so we can gauge attendance)

Sunday January 31st, 2-5pm – Caning 101 with Raymond WiseWiseProtector

Harsh and punishing is what generally comes to mind with Canes. It doesn’t have to be that way (but we’ll cover that as well in the workshop, but, hard, is easy.) Arousal, altered state (sub-space), orgasms are all possible with canes. The range of sensations is large and subtle.
We’ll cover:
1) Trust and Patience and Desire. Getting someone to the point where they WANT you to cane them is something you need to know about.
2) Types of canes besides rattan, there’s all sorts of materials. Sting, Thud, Arousing and other sensations are attainable with the right cane and technique.
3) Connection – You get that in most of my hands on workshops. It’s one approach to altered states, arousal, and in general, better relationships!
4) Technique – Using more of the cane for varied sensation. Thud – anchoring caning to arousal – rhythm – Altered States – double caning.
5) Sado-masochism. First thing you think of, right? Of course it’s included.
6) QUIET caning. Apartment dwellers will especially like this.
If you have canes bring a few. Canes are available for experiencing the less painful techniques. They are the ones I think you’ll find the most interesting. The workshop is 3 hours and includes a full scene, an example of how a scene can look and work. And there will be times for hands on experiences if you have a partner with you.

*Live demo contains nudity*

Starting in the late 70s before the interweb, before knowing anybody actually does this sort of thing, Wise had to seduce girlfriends into BDSM. The cornerstone of that seduction is knowing what each other really needs, and fulfilling that need. “All I do is lead people where they want to go.” That’s the focus of most of his workshops: find out what you both really need and how you need to get it. Then lead them there.
Carter Steven’s Pocono Fall Fetish Fling (in 1998) was his first foray into the public scene where Joe and candi taught him what they know about flogging. After learning from lots of people, he’s given workshops at the York Play Group, Brimstone, The first NDDS bootcamp and The Warehouse.
He also participates in the BDSM module of SAR at Widener University, for the Graduate Class in Human Sexuality, exposing future therapists to some aspects of BDSM.

Sunday January 31st, 6-8pm – Connections: Putting Emotions Into Play with Raymond Wise

For most BDSM players, bringing the bottom into spacey, happy place that all partners can witness and experiencing a good connection is the focus of play. Building to the point of euphoria has way more to do with communication, emotion, and what’s going on inside our minds than physical technique. There’s all sorts of ways to get to “sub-space” and to empathetically enjoy the high of a partner. This workshop focuses on the idea of connecting with your partner, mentally, emotionally as well as physically. There are ways to connect in any situation, from first time play partners, to intensifying what you already have naturally with a long term, loving partner. You’ll get a chance to try some of the ideas and you can pick what fits for you.

Saturday February 20th, 2-4pm – Intimate Rituals with Raymond Wise

Do you have any BDSM Rituals? If you’ve taken the time to develop one, it already means something. Think about the ritual you’re involved in, and what kind of feelings come from that. Would you like that feeling to be stronger? Even more profound? What if the ritual included the values you share with your partner? Not just from words that you speak, but the actions of the ritual that put you both on the same page in a way that both of you can feel. When I first developed my BDSM rituals, the main purpose was to slow down, focus, and make a transition from whatever we were doing before. I started the ritual as a way to allow both myself and my submissive to get into the right frame of mind, to make the transition from the outside world to our own private world of Dominance and submission. Our ritual gives us a moment to breathe and connect. Our ritual makes our roles clear and gets us into the right frame of mind to perform our roles. In our lives, we have many roles. Worker, lover, parent, employee/employer. Roles are real. Rituals can help you get to where you need to be, to take on that role to the fullest and make it more meaningful.

Starting in the late 70s before the interweb, before knowing anybody actually does this sort of thing, Wise had to seduce girlfriends into BDSM.
